Project management is the ability to relate to the business entity’s vision based on three drivers; its mission, goals and objectives in order to carry out projects and tasks. The project manager is the individual whose responsibility is to corral everyone to keep driving towards those goals.
As a project manager, you need to understand you are not in control! You are merely herding cats.
These days, there is a need for people to understand project management, its concepts and processes. Too many people are placed in this role without the proper skills or tools.
