Life of the Unemployed (Part II)- 60 Days Later

Life of the Unemployed is a series of articles written to reflect and share the experience of being unemployed for the first time. This fascinating account of leaving an ordinary job to find one’s true calling.
60 Days Later

It has been 60 days now. Back from the Motherland, and it is Christmas Time! Time for celebrating.
Very tough to get into Productivity mode. When all I could think about are pretty lights. From lights that decorate the exterior of big houses to snow blanketing the city everywhere. (Just kidding, I live in Southern California! ) Listening to Christmas jingles and watching holiday movies on my comfy sofa with my ”Restoration Hardware” blanket ( if you don’t already own one, please go and buy one.)
Anyway, back to smoking cigarettes again. I’ve had too many mood swings and I just cannot take it.
I was not strong enough and the habit started again my last couple of days in Taiwan. I miss my family already.
Now, how can I look for jobs, when all I could think of was: what dress should I wear to so and so’s birthday party? Mmmm, tough tough tough!
Job Hunting and Resume Editing

Now I was revising my resumes again. Making sure everything is final so I can start sending them out. I check the listings on Monster, Indeed, Career Builder and Craigslist.
Gee, so far nothing around my area. My goal is to find something close to where I live. The most I am willing to commute is no more than 10 miles. Is that such a tough demand? I refuse to drive further. My previous job, I drove 36 miles every day to and from work.
Okay, so now it’s time to hit the SEND button. Away each of my resumes go to so and so company.
I had previously mentioned a company (unnamed for confidential reasons) that I went in for and the lady boss told me to keep in touch with her. Anyway I receive a call, and they tell me they want me right away.
OMG! This is such a rush. Especially right after I get back from my vacation. The boss seemed really messy. I told them I would come in for an interview. She scheduled immediately for the very same day, in a couple of hours. To make the story short, she sent me an offer letter, and I accepted it.
Yayayaya! Workworkwork! FINALLY. By the way HAPPY 2010!!!!!!
