FW: The curious incident of a dog on the train
The curious incident of a dog on the train.
This is one of those stories regarding an incident that happened to a friend of a friend. It’s all true.* I swear.
Once upon a time…
A dog named Archy died on the day that Elly was dog-sitting him. Unfortunately the owner was not due back until sometime much later, and Elly has not had much experience dealing with dead dogs. So she did what any woman would do in a case of an emergency; she called her mother. The mother suggested that she bring Archy to the animal control.
The solution was simple enough, but the logistics got a bit tricky: How would you get from Point A to Point B carrying a dead dog without a car?
Elly stuffed Archy into a suitcase and hopped on the train. As she was boarding, a polite young man offered Elly a hand since she was visibly struggling.
“This is pretty heavy,” the young man said. “What do you have in there? A dead body?”
“Laptops,” Elly replied with a nervous laugh. “I’m bringing my co-workers’ laptops to them.”
The nice young man then offered to carry the suitcase off the train for her since they were both coincidentally getting off the same station. As the train slowed and pulled to a stop, the young man grabbed the suitcase and bolted out the door.
The End.
